SSC CGL combined graduate level exam is conducted by the SSC (staff selection commission). It is major recruitment body for group B and C posts in different department, organization and ministries of the government of India.

Posts offer after clearing the SSC CGL Exam:

It offers various posts in ministries, departments and organization of government of India such as,

Group B:

Assistant section officer, Inspector of income tax, Inspector (central excise), Inspector (prevention officer), Inspector (examiner), Assistant Enforcement officer, Assistant superintendent, Junior statistical office, Statistical Investigator etc.

Group C:

What is the salary structure and perks we get after clearing the SSC CGL?

Salary structure in all civil services is dependent on level of post and grade pay of central government employee, which is decided by the committee called CPC (central pay commission). It gives the recommendation to the central government regarding the changes in the salaries of its employees.

The government of India constituted 7th CPC in sept 2013 and its recommendation were implemented on 1 January 2016.

CPC has allotted a fix grade pay to each of the post. Higher grade pay stands for higher responsibilities and higher salary.

Ther lowest grade pay which CPC offers is 1800 (peon/Sweeper) and highest grade pay of 10000 (IG/commissioner). Each grade pay has its fix basic pay (In term of salaries).

All civil services are divided in 18 levels. In which,

Level 1 to 5 come under group Cand D

Level 6 to 9 come under group B

Level 10 to 11 come under group A

The grade pays of Group B officers after clearing SSC CGL are 4200, 4600, 4800 and 5400. The basic pay of group B officer is 35400 (level 6) and it goes up to 53100 (level).

Perks:

In hand salary = salary (basic pay+DA)+ PERKS

HRA: house rent allowance. The current rate of HRA is 24, 16, 8% of basic pay according to the status of city (X, Y, Z).

Medical: all the employees (And their dependents) of central government are covered under central government health scheme (CGHS). Government will beer almost full medical expense of chronic illnesses.

Telephone: only for some posts. An official sim card will be provided for calling and asking internet purposes.

Petrol: only for some posts. Usually in field postings, affixed amount of money is given for petrol ( say 20/30 lit.)

LTA: leave travel allowance. For each and every post. You can go anywhere in India. Usually, second class AC ticket is provided. sometimes air ticket also (for NE, Andaman and JK). You can go with family. Family means you and your dependents and not your extended family. You can go once in 4 year you Have to beer only the accommodation charges, travel expense will be biome by the government.

Govt. Guest Houses: the government will have its guest houses in almost all the major cities and tourist places. You can stay there with nominal charges (Around 200-500 Rupees).

Maternity/paternity Leaves: all female employees are given 6 months paid leave. All male employees are given 15 days paid leaves.

A fair idea about the salary:

Grade pay 4200 basic pays= 35400

HRA- 35400*24%= 8500(Approx)

DA (increase every year) current Rate 46% to 50%

35400*50%=17700

Salary cumulates to around INR 61600(Approx). there are other allowances also included.

Every year salary increases by 3% to basic and DA also increase. We can expect a 4200 GP employee getting salary around 60K to 65K or more than it.
